SIGNATURES
Event Date: October 24, 2014
Asian Art Gallery is delighted to announce the unveiling of the canvas of a celebrity series, SIGNATURES supporting social causes with artist Mark Rathinaraj.
SIGNATURES is art with a purpose. In SIGNATURES, Artist Mark Rathinaraj presents art by celebrities in a way that has never been attempted before.
The concept of SIGNATURES is for the artist to work alongside a celebrity wherein the artist will receive a drawing or a signature by the celebrity and recreate this drawing on canvas adding a touch or two to it to make the work even more fabulous. The finished canvas, autographed by the celebrity will be then auctioned for a cause.
The painting on display is an AR Rahman autograph with a Mark Rathinaraj twist. You will see the intensity of Rahman’s stardom translated into simple, elegant strokes by Mark. This is one tune Rahman has started and Mark completes. Asian Art Gallery launched the SIGNATURES celebrity series for the event “A R Rahman meets Berklee” in collaboration with Berklee College of Music.
