Manjiri Mahendra More
Manjiri Mahendra More will not trade the brush for anything in the world. Art fascinates her. She is drawn to it like a child to playthings. She entered the world of art right after school education. She always mentions the courage and composure her parents showed when she announced her desire to pursue art for a career.
A Diploma in Fine Arts from Raheja School of Art & Architecture in Mumbai and a Diploma in Interior Design later she was ready for her world’s experiences to be brought to life in ways that appealed to her. Nature and people are her chosen muses. She loves the little puzzles that they are and enjoys transferring them onto canvas.
Manjiri flair and passion is portraiture. She does justice to her forms of people and nature in oils, pastels, watercolors, and pencil. Manjiri More is careful not to delve into the psychoanalysis of what she sees. She is not interested in the reinterpretation of the thoughts and moods of her subjects. What fascinates her is what she can see. And she draws and paints that with authority.
Manjiri has many groups and solo exhibitions to her credit. she is particular that life needs to be one happy journey. When she is not painting for joy, she is imparting her knowledge and skill to others. She has been part of many live demonstrations of art and art workshops. She also organizes various art workshops for students as well as art enthusiasts.
Some of the honors bestowed on her include the ‘Women Achievers Award 2015′ by Young Environmentalists Programme Trust, Late Shri Raja Ravi Verma Award for Best Portrait, Late Shri G. S. Haldankar Award for Realistic portrait, Late Shri. V. A. Mali Award for Outstanding Entry at the 98th Annual Art Exhibition 2016 by The Art Society of India.
